Are you the person who works night shifts? Are you the person who feels hungry during the wee hours of the night? Mumbai has a number of restaurants that serve food throughout the day but there isn’t much when someone wants to dine during the wee hours of the night. The only options available would be the roadside stalls which serve different forms of junk food, All Day Cafes of 5 star restaurants that are overpriced or the late night bars that serve booze and substandard food. For a person like me who has a knack for eating some good quality grub it becomes very difficult to dine after 1am.
Well if these things worry you we at Mytastetest have you covered for your midnight hunger pangs. We recently came across a place called The Third House. Owned by Mr Khaliq Moti it’s A place which specialises on delivering good quality food at a very affordable price till 4am in the morning. They had started with their first outlet in Andheri which became a great success and quickly became one of the places to must order from to satiate your midnight hunger pangs. They have opened their second outlet in Malad recently and we got the opportunity to try their food out. Both of their outlets are open from 7pm and deliver till 4am. They have a tie up with zomato for online delivery or you can reach out to them on their number as well
Food at the Third House
The Third House specialises in Indian, Chinese & Continental cuisine. Their latest outlet in Malad doesn’t serve continental as of now as it has recently opened but their house speciality is Indian food and that is where they excel at and give stiff competition to all the restaurants around its vicinity. Their Indian section consists of starters (Tikkas & Kebabs), Indian Style Sliders, Wraps & Mains.
In Starters they serve a very mean Lasooni tikka in Paneer, Chicken & Fish. It is one of their must have starters. Consisting of succulently grilled meat laced with their signature creamy Lasooni sauce it just melts in your mouth with bursts of creamy, garlicky goodness.
For vegetarians there is the Tandoori stuffed mushrooms which is a must have. Consisting of grilled mushrooms stuffed with cheese and their house marinade it’s another one of their melt in the mouth starters you can opt for.
For The Kabab Lovers they have a Mutton Nawabi seekh which is another one of their must have starters. Their kebabs have the perfectly spiced goodness we love in our kebabs but are filled with a cheesy centre and tossed in egg making it a very rich and flavourful kabab. Full marks to the chef for this dish
The Sliders served in The Third House are a meal in its own. Only 1 Slider in itself is enough to floor even the hungriest of people. Their sliders consists of a tandoor naan stuffed with cheese and a generous portion of their in house gravy topped with chopped onion and coriander. We tried the Mutton Kheema & the Butter chicken slider and we loved them. The Butter chicken was rich, creamy, with chunks of chicken and moderately spiced. The Mutton Kheema on the other hand is like an Ode to Kheema Lovers. The only downside to the sliders is that they can end up being a bit soggy if left for too long but the gravies inside the naan will make it up. So if your very hungry and very tight on your pocket then just go for 1 Slider and you wont be disappointed
In Main course we tried a number of dishes like the Chicken Biryani, Dal Makhani, Dal Amritsari, Chicken Peshawari, Mutton Kasha, Mirch Ka Paneer with Roti’s & naan & they were all very good. Their main course dishes were way better than some of the well-established Indian restaurants in our vicinity and the pricing of food at the third house gives it a bug advantage over these restaurants. They serve some amazing curries as well which we didn’t get the chance to try as we were too full from all the food we devoured.
We give a big thumbs up to The Third House and we wish them all the best for their second new outlet. We recommend this place for everyone to try out especially if they are looking for some good food delivered to their doorstep at an affordable price point. I would definitely be going back for their Sliders, Wraps and The Lasooni tikka.
